Bronx, NY (September 12, 2021) – Around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, September 12, a car crash injured several officers in the Bronx.
According to NYPD officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Sedgwick Avenue and Stevenson Place. A driver was traveling in the area when they went through a red light at the intersection. Police also discovered that the driver had an illegal knife on him at the time of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help. Three officers in a police cruiser were injured in the crash. The injured victims were hospitalized but are expected to be okay.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. He has since been arrested on possession of an illegal weapon charge.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time.
